Regional Theatre in Australia

Abstract

Reflects upon the increasing regionalisation of arts and cultural activity in Australia, in the context of government investments and inquiries pre and post-pandemic. It argues that increasing diversification of theatre practices is taking place within the regions without recourse to the urban centralisation of production and training. It also provides an introduction to the articles collected in this issue and interviews with key practitioners around Australia.
